long. weekend.

our last 'bank holiday' in the uk until christmas. goodness that seems so far away. and yet it's near. in a blink the next four months will fly. i did my work calendar for the next four months today - the academic calendar i usually use is on backorder for the next four weeks! i needed something in the interim. so i searched calendar printables on pinterest - and voila!

printed, laminated, just as good, but a whole lot prettier than the academic calendars...it may become a new & MUCH cuter solution!

long. weekend. recap.

friday. homemade hummus - loosely based off this recipe on simply recipes - what have i been thinking, buying hummus? dinner with le boy.

saturday. painted bedroom. recieved delivery of ikea bedroom furniture. flat-packed our way to end of time.

sunday. return trip to ikea to retrieve bed slats and other 'essentials.' a bread knife is an essential people. got a sneak peek of our wedding photos. we. love. them.

finished building the bed. slept like a log on said bed.

monday. ahh i love bank holidays! organize the crap stuff day. meal plan and grocery shop day. enjoy the company of friends in the afternoon for tea day. cook your husband a terrific meal day.

tidbits.

our house is beyond a mess. it's pretty much a disaster. at the moment we're sleeping on the futon, that also acts as our couch. we've got two bedrooms with PILES of stuff, but no organization and we've got a bathroom with about as much storage as my seventh grade locker. but i love the house. i love sharing it with le boy. and i love slowly, surely, finding out how the whole thing will work.

we've no drawers in the kitchen. a pain to be sure. and very little counter space. but the teensy-tiny kitchen is also incredibly workable - mainly because there are no wasted steps. we're looking for fixes everywhere we can. my first (temporary?) fix.

unbeknownst to me, we inherited this green jug from friends of ours who have recently returned state-side. currently holding our cutlery, i love it's shape and colour and the way the light catches it, and the way it looks on the table. once we've sorted out the cutlery thing, i may need to keep it on the table, filled with other wonders?

it's been unbelievable, incredible, everything-we-ever-hoped for, completely awesome, so amazed-by-his-grace, good!

but we also honeymooned. this is the hipsta-version. hilton head island. south carolina.

beaches. bikes. devotions. savannah. walks. eating.

we get internet at home soon - better posts will follow. for now we're trying to sort out our masses of stuff. we're trying to cook and share a bed and budget and follow jesus and laugh.

it's so good. so so good.
